A staunch advocate for rock 'n roll as religion, Doug Wagner writes and lives in a place where you'd be hard-pressed to swing a cat without hitting a palm tree. Which isn't to say he wouldn't like to see you try. Here in San Diego he feigns a life of leisure while writing regularly about music, nightlife and pop culture for publications both local and national. Doug has pawned words to the San Diego Union Tribune, Black Book Magazine, MOJO Magazine's "The Mojo Collection," Risen Magazine, January Magazine, Alternet.org and others. When not banging away at his keyboard he can usually be found at San Diego's indie rock destinations de rigeur. Doug considers himself the most unlikely "man about town" even though he finds himself "about town" with startling frequency. He is at present desperately seeking a VC to blindly fund his reckless exploits. No return on investment is guaranteed.

I hate concerts. This inconvenient truth stems mostly from snarled traffic and projectile vomit at various Dave Matthews shows in the 90's. I knew early-on that in order to sustain my passion for live music, I'd have to find creative ways to be at the show without having to deal with the belligerent masses. Since then, I've played a myriad of roles behind the scenes - sponsorship, ticketing, production, label promotion, radio, touring, live recording, retailing/licensing and concert photography (www.michaeljustin.com). I've been on the payroll of both David and Goliath, collecting campfire stories with every backstage credential. I've waged 4am settlement fights with venue managers, witnessed activities of questionable legality on tour buses, even danced onstage in a coffee-cup outfit at an Aaron Carter arena concert (not my proudest moment - or was it?). Find me at Sheila Divine reunion concerts (look them up), Sigur Ros or Colin Meloy solo performances, and Explosions in the Sky, Wolf Parade, The Album Leaf, Beirut, or The Arcade Fire shows.
